CCSE racer Trevor Kitney has been in touch to let everyone know of the plans for the RS 800, in 2004.
The team say that " for the majority of 2004 I'll be handing over driving duties in the 'RS 8000' to youngest daughter - Eleanor. This has always been the plan, but it nicely coincides with us landing a 'proper' sponsor for 2004" The team say keep posted for updates on this sponser soon.
The Kitney Transplant team have also announced that work on 'Kitney Transplant III' has already started. "This will be another blown(of some description!!!) V8 engined car, which we plan to run in addition to the Escort now there are two drivers!"
In other news, John Hales' beautiful '56 Chevy is up for sale. All queries must be directed towards car builder Jon Webster on 01933 315236. The car as you well know is the capable of a 7 second run and was neck and neck with Steve Pateman this year. With a 698ci engine and the engineering of Jon Webster thrown in, who can refuse!!
Also, make sure you check out www.quartermilehigh.com to order your copy of the best racing video ever released. The video titled 'Hardcore Street' is available on DVD and Video and features every round of the 2003 CCSE championship. This is a quality feature video which includes the trills, spills and every angle of the brilliance of the CCSE drivers and crew.

Well its official, the class to watch in 2004 is now, offcially, the Custom Car Street Eliminator. It looks like there will be no less than three 11 litre engined cars next year, and we havent even mentioned the turbos yet!!
The only confirmed entry into the 11 Litre club is Jerry Charles of the Crossbreed Racing team who has purchased the ex-Pro Mod Andy Robinson 706ci. The secondary Andy Robinson engine also seems set to move over to CCSE in the form of Colin Lazenby, although this has yet to be confirmed. This will however mea that Colins 10 litre engine may be up for sale!
Also in the rumour mill is that Jon Webster's recently turboed Mustang could be on its way to ex-Super Pro champ, Wayne Saunders. Look out for confirmation in the near future.

The Boys have asked me to post this. The unedited version just ist the same, so I have posted the whole thing. Enjoy.
2003 was a year of mixed fortunes for us. It all started on the weekend of April 12th/13th when we attended the Season Opener event at Shakespeare County which incorporated round 1 of the National Street Car Challenge. A less than brilliant track confined us to mid 9s in qualifying but the real problems started on the cruise to a local pub when the engine started blowing oil out in some fashion. A strip down in the pits revealed ring problems and the rush was on to get a set and rebuild before the first CCSE meeting at The Thunderball just a couple of weeks later. Little did we know that, as the season progressed we were to become very familiar with the inside of the '34s engine!
The Thunderball rolled around and we were ready. Although we progressed to a low 9 in qualifying it wasn't until round one of eliminations that the tyres seemed to really start working rewarding us with our first 8 of the year. In round 2 we improved to a NPB of 8.87 but a nitrous failure meant we couldn't even worry Steve Pateman in the semi-final. However, we were 3rd in the championship and the car was still in one piece.
Two weeks later at Shakey for round 2 was a different story. Our first pass netted a NPB speed of 162.45mph but a routine leakdown check revealed three damaged pistons. Unfortunately we'd gone with too little retard and had paid the price. With only one spare piston we had to call it a day at that point going home having dropped to sixth.
Round 3 was six weeks away so a set of pistons were hurriedly acquired and we embarked on our second rebuild of the year. Fortunately we were offered the chance of some free testing at Mark Needham's UK Modified Nationals at the end of May so off we went for a little match racing with Andy Frost. First race was a pedalled 9.2 beating Frosty but at what cost. As I slowed the car filled with smoke and the engine felt rough all the way back down the return road. A compression test showed several cylinders with no compression at all. The diaphragm in one of the fuel regulators had broken up and had blocked several of the nitrous fuel jets resulting in a VERY lean mixture, melted pistons and bent valves. The rest of Saturday was spent with rebuilding the motor with any spares we could find and Sunday lunchtime saw us back on the track with our 'bitza'. A final run of 95 was reassuring despite losing to Frosty.
Another two weeks passed and we were back at Shakey for round 3. Try as we might we couldn't run an eight although a stronger nitrous tune produced a 9.002 at 160mph as we went out to Steve Pateman in the second round. With Sue Jackson not competing due to a crash in the Vette it was enough for us to leapfrog Team Silver Fox into 5th place.
For round 4 we were back at The Pod. The 9.002 had given us hope of getting back in the eights but massive tyre shake in the first round of qualifying caused a brief encounter with the rev limiter (whilst the gas was on!). The motor seemed OK when I drove it round for our second session where we were paired with Andy Frost. Again, beating him seems to have cost us. Puffs of smoke were issuing from the bonnet side panel as I drove back to the pits. It seemed the previous run's visit to limiter-land had done another two pistons as well as damaging some rings. We'd used up all our spares building the 'bitza' so there was no option but to open the beers. We were to spend the long summer break back in sixth place having given up fifth to Alan Simms.
During the summer shutdown we had had some of the crushed pistons machined to open up the ring grooves and had rebuilt the engine again. Although new pistons would have been preferable a lack of funds ruled that option out. August Bank Holiday's meeting was the Allstar Nationals back at Shakespeare County. With fresh rings and a hone but 'iffy' pistons I was quite nervous on the first run and rightly so. A massive nitrous backfire just before the finish line resulted in two damaged pistons and one damaged inlet valve. Our depleted spares box fortunately contained two pistons and one inlet valve! I must admit that I'd had just about enough at this point and was thinking about taking up fishing!. However, the enthusiasm of my superb crew is infectious and by Saturday evening the car was up & running again. The problem this time? My fault I'd neglected to correct the rotor phasing, the out of phase spark causing the misfire a real no-no with nitrous. Despite the repairs we still couldn't run an eight at Shakey, our 9.02 against Moose in round one being our quickest pass of the weekend. However, from that point on we had a real change of fortune. We thought we'd be on the trailer in round 2 as Jeff Meads, our opponent, was a good 3/10 quicker than us. Engine problems saw him no showing so we were into the semi-final for the second time this year. What looked set up for a close race came to nothing when Colin Lazenby had his own nitrous backfire on the start line and we were into our first final for six years! And our opponent none other than arch-rival (and good mate) Andy Frost. Unfortunately another potentially close race was spoiled as Andy had valve problems allowing me to cruise to a 9.27 victory. So, with a lot of hard work and some good luck, what looked like another wasted weekend turned into the best for 6 years! The big points haul also meant that we jumped from 6th to 4th in the championship.
The International Doorslammers was the venue for round 6 and we made the short trip into Warwickshire with a new device on board. Mike Thomas of Nitrous Solutions had loaned us a nitrous controller to try and tame the wheelspin we were still experiencing. It worked. On our second pass we ran an 8.79 accompanied with a big cheer from the stands and fire up road we'd done it at last, an eight at Shakey. Although going no quicker we did hang on to the number 3 qualifying slot, another best for us this year. We progressed to the semis where we went out to Steve Pateman, us with an 8.83 and Steve with a record-breaking 8.22. We were now pretty safe in fourth place needing only to make the first round at the Finals to secure it.
We'd noticed that our 'second-halfs' (660 foot to 1320) had been tailing off and had come to the conclusion that we were losing nitrous pressure. To try and resolve this we had two bottles (just wash n go!) on board for the Finals. The first qualifier of 8.91 would normally have pleased us but the very low mph of just 146 gave cause for concern. Investigation (with the invaluable help of Frosty cheers) eventually led us to the conclusion that we had a faulty torque converter. It had got so hot that the case had 'blued'. It was very frustrating as we had to sit there watching almost everyone go quicker on the best track of the year. We made the cruise OK and got through the first round, so securing fourth place. We exited in round 2 at the hands of Steve Pateman (again!) who, despite a massive wheelie, ran an 8.4, considerably quicker than my 9.3! Steve went on to reset the record again at 8.14.
With the damaged converter and depleted money-box there was no way we'd make the Halloween meeting so that was the end of our season. Five rebuilds had not helped our cause but fourth place in such a competitive class was a great result. I feel we made some real progress over the last two meetings and am looking forward to mixing it again next year.
I know this isn't the Oscars but I really do have to say some 'thank-you's.
Firstly the FB Racing crew. They have worked their socks off this year without complaint (well, not much anyway!). I am very lucky to have such a great bunch working for me.
I also have to say thanks to Kev Elliot, Lee Childs and Dale Reardon for their organisational contributions and, of course, to everybody working so hard behind the scenes at both tracks marshalls, safety crew, track prep, signing on, commentators, etc. You know who you are thanks for all your hard work.
And not to be forgotten are all the other racers and their crews. Despite the cut-throat rivalry on the track the atmosphere in the CCSE pits is always excellent and it's not unusual to find racers and crew helping out on cars other than their own. They make the class what it is thanks.
Finally, a brief plug. If you'd like to get the inside track on building, running and racing a Street Eliminator car and see your name on the FB Racing '34 next season why not join our 'supporters club' the FB Associates. Cost is £25 per year (£30 for business membership) and you'll receive regular updates straight to your desktop on all the work that goes in to preparing and running the car. We'll even send you an FB 'goodie' to welcome you aboard. Click here to register or here to drop me an e-mail for further information.
Cheers Ian Hook

Sorry for not posting recently, but really haven't had much of a chance, instead I have been within the clutches of my new job, which includes Saturdays! Whoopie!
To see the Race Reports and pictures, click here, or visit the link on the left.
Please visit Andy Frost and Ian Hook's sites for their closing reports and see the final points standings. They can be reached via the links on the left or by clicking their names.
While browsing, please also visit www.quartermilehigh.com. The CCSE video, Season 2003 will be available shortly. The video shows the thrills, spills, cruising and losing from the past season and proves to be an excellent watch. I personally have seen some of the interviews from the drivers and cant wait to hear them published.
In the end, we saw Steve Pateman in the mighty Calibra take his third championship in a row. With plenty more left from the car, we can expect some excellet numbers next season, especially now as Team Powerpour have showed their potential.
With the inclusion of Turbo's next season, what is the next step in CCSE? By my reconing, I count at least three turbo cars next season, old racers back with improvments, should be excellent, and most definately the class to watch in 2004.

Hey all.
Worked out a way to tell my computer not to block my site!! About time too!
Well well well. What the hell has gone on since I last updated!! Fatty wins, new PB's, two massive hairdryers!! CCSE is being turned on its head.
Well, so far the only, not confirmed quote is that finally there is some competition. Shall we see more from the Calibra?? I think everyone would like to see a mixture of event winners, a bit like last year. This year we have had three winners and there are two events to go.
I have just started a new job, so apologies for the lack of Fantasy updates. I promise that I will do this, but I seem to have lost all evenings and weekends, I once had.
For those going to Shakey next weekend, see ya there!! Should be good. There are rumours flying around, but after a number of slapped wrists, I will keep them to myself!
Be good all
4th August 2003
I am pleased to announce the following as a member of the FB Associates, that from the August Bank Holiday, oh well you read on!!!
FB Racing are pleased to announce that they are now a two-car team. Team member and webmaster Trevor Jones has acquired the ex-Richard Homewood 1941 Willys, an ideal stablemate to Ian Hook's 8-second 1934 Ford. Trevor will be making his race debut in the car at LA Performance Services August Bank Holiday meeting at Shakespeare County although the car will be on display (along with Fatty's Ford) at the Mid West American car show at Cheltenham Racecourse on the 16th/17th August.
The car, built by Dale Reardon's West Coat Racing enterprise, is powered by a 383 small-block Chevy and has run a best ET to date of 10.7 (without gas) although the team would like to see nines before the end of the season.
Trevor's race experience dates back to the days of the NDRA when he ran a gasser-style PA Cresta (again SBC-powered) to a best of 13.24 although he has run 12s in the original FB Racing '34.
For more information check out the FB Racing site news page.

The July edition of CC magazine shows the car in the classified section, anyone with the money!!! Get there quick!!
P.S Sorry to Crossbreed Racing's Tony Russell who I missed out in my report of 22md June. Tony featured in CCSE for a couple of races last year and is attending his first race this year.

22nd June 2003
Sorry about the massive delay between updates, but as I have explained to a couple of you, this server has its own way of working and following a number of emails, I have finally got access back.
Since I have been gone we have seen two rounds of CCSE pass us by and they have been actioned packed! Shakspeare County Raceway was the venue and noone would have believed that Jon Webster in the Team Powerpour Chevy would have walked away honours even with Steve Pateman in the Calibra.
Steve Pateman tops the CCSE leaderboard after round three and this can be checked out at FB Racing. Race reports from FB Towers can also be read. Another top man in CCSE, Andy Frost has also published his recent reports from the last three events. Check both racers feelings ut by clicking on the links highlighted in red.
In news realised today, Jeff Meads has entered himself into next weekends Summernationals at Santa Pod raceway. The list consists of only 16 racers, but a sprise inclusion is that of Sue Jackson who rolled two weeks ago, and that after hitting the wall at the previous event. Once again, and for the third time out of four events, Jon Webster will be driving the Team Powerpour Chevy. Place your bets now!!
Speak soon x

Apologies to those who may have found my title of John Sleaths crash pic offensive, but as John was not hurt in the accident, I was merley trying to find the lighter side of a very serious accident. Thank you to the person who pointed it out to me and I promise to be more careful with what I publish.
23rd April 2003
Well, what a weekend!! The racing was superb, the weather not so good, but the Boys n Girl of the CCSE showed the crowds just why they arethe best i the business andput on a spectacular showcase of racing.
I have written a very limited report due to not actually taking notes, and have posted my pictures, I hope!! If they are ot there, just wait for a few days, hehehe!!

Well, a day late, but by 'eck, ive done it!!! Click here, or on the toolbar on the left to view the Rules for this years Fantasy CCSE League.
As for pre-season updates, Ian Hook has been in touch with this press release. basically sums up the hard work these guys put in.
Ian Hook's FB Racing team are working flat out to try and complete the rebuild of their 8-second street legal '34 Ford completed in time to make Shakespeare County's Season Opener bash on 12th/13th April. A lot of work has been carried out on the car over the Winter months. The major changes are a new Powerglide transmission from CCSE sponsors TSR, an aluminium radiator from Serck Services, the 477ci engine (damaged at the cars debut last year) has been rebuilt and modified versions of the wings, running boards and bonnet have been fitted. "I am particularly keen to attend this meeting for two major reasons. With the continued support of Shakespeare County Raceway for our car in 2003 I want to make our presence felt as much as possible. Also, the weekend sees round 1 of the NSCC championship and we have been hoping to race in that series for several years." The Fat Boys have been held up by the late arrival of a tyre and are still waiting for a set of pushrods but are hopeful of firing the car early next week and driving it before leaving for Shakey on Friday. "It's going to be tight so I may have to miss a meal or two!!" What a sacrifice!
2nd April 2003
Wow, monthly updates, aren't you the lucky ones!! I have been shattered recently and doing everything but the site it seems, so I cant say sorry enough for that, trying to sort out photography careers and everything else, whilst working full time is nothing compred to the amount of work put in by the racers of CCSE, but its up there!!
I start off by saying that Mark Bracking has teased his Pop with a hint of ntrous and recorded the best times..yet, with his beautiful blue Ford Pop. He also has achieved his other goal of reaching 100mph at the half track marker. Now, if this is the case for the rest of the season, who else is going to be setting new PB's??? I am so excited and really cannot wait.
The next piece of news is regarding the 2003 Fantasy CCSE League. You each have two weeks to get your entries into stuart_dempsey@hotmail.com. The same rules aply this year as last, but they are so basic that they are not even worth puting on the site, oh what the hell, £20 million to spend, five racers each. Points will be based on points won each round and will be divided by 10 . That figure will be the points gained for your particular driver which will be added to the rest of your teams accumulation.
The choices will be out tomorrow, but the site doesnt like accpeting my files at the moment, so as soon as I kick it for a day, everything will be up!!!
See Ya
3rd Mrach 2003
A couple of things, First up, is the plea to all entrants into this years CCSE to get their cheque of £15 made to Kelsey Publishing LTD, and send them to Street Eliminator Custom Car Cudham Tithe Barn Berry's Hill Cudham Kent TN16 3AG Secondly is the news that wasnt meant to be heard. Anyone who has read Eurodragster.com over the last week, will have read the news that Steve Pateman and John Hales will be battling it out to be the first Street Legal car into the sevens!! The news comes after a phone call to ex-ccse racer Paul Webster. Now, I spoke to Steve on the 23rd of Feb and he said exactly the same thing to me. However, he didnt want it thrown around on the internet. Intresting stuff. News from the Pateman camp is that the car is currently in bits and small bits of work are taking place, but as for the engine and everything else technical, nothing has been touched. Steve belives that if all goes well, he could be running very quick times this season, especially as he will have the competition to allow him to do so. Although disappointed to hear that Steve Neimantis and Jeff Meads will both not be competing this season, he is looking forward to the stiff fight which will most definatley come from John Hales, Andy Frost and the rest of the boys n girl of CCSE.
Keep tuned for news on the 2003 Fantasy CCSE Drag Racing League!!! Entrance is once again free, and it is for fun, although I am trying to get a prize lined up. I am trying to get one of my pictures of Ian Hooks beautiful '34 blown up and framed so that I can give it to him as a prize for winning last year. Stay tuned!
12th February 2003

14th February 2003
What an appropriate day to come back to the world of drag racing. I am so sorry about the lack of updates or actually anything, but I have had massive problems with the firewall I am behind and also just generally time.
One piece of massive news is that of Andy Olivers beautiful Camaro being up for sale. I have no idea why, but the price is amazing!!
The other big news is that of the Guiness World Record 0-60 attempt. the CCSE drivers so far announced to be going for gold are, Andy Frost Steve Pateman John Sleath Sue Jackson
There are many competitors from the realm of Drag rcaing, all going for that rcord so if you can, get down to Elvington Airfield on 15th March. Its a saturday so I expect to see a massive turn out to see the boys n girl from CCSE whooop some boy racer ass!!! Nice!
Be good people and keep in touch with news, views and anything else you want to share.
17th January 2003
Pictures should hopefully be up now.
17th January 2003
Absolutly massive and devastating news people!!! Rick Homwood has put that beautiful '41 Willy's Coupe up FOR SALE!!!!!! The news comes as a shock as the car received much appraissel, whilst on the Custom car stand at the Autosport Show last weekend. The car in its Red paintwork has an asking price of around £30,000. The car features a 383 Small Block with a single carb and Top Gun nitrous nozzle. Furthur deatails hopefully available soon, but if you a budding CCSE driver, then get that money together....That car is worth every penny.!!!
15th January 2003
Ok ok so I lied. Basically I have taken a lot of pictures and mu new computer does not have my old programs which I was able to editmy photos with. So I am now left with 600kb UPWARDS size files, which when your faced with limited space, just doesnt compute. I am trying to find a way to get the smaller but should be adding the large files of the CCSE cars ASAP. I started backwards at the show, not shooting the Custom car stand until last. therefore, the first pictures i began uploading were those of the Santa pod stand.
In other news. Andy Frost has apologised fr thelack of recent updates, but his perfectly valid reason just about scrapped through our trial. The show has now passed and his webmasters cmputer is back online. You can visit Andy's site by cicking here, or the link on the left.
Also, Topendtales, the personal website of Eurodragster staffer, Sharkman has added a video of the final at last seasons Mid-summer nationals between Steve Pateman and Jeff Meads. Jeff gets the Pop wildly out of shape of of the line, but recovers to run a pretty respectable time. Steve however, eases to victory with another mid 8 second run. It is awesome.
Ian Jackson has confirmed that recent work on the Blue and White flamed Corvette, has taken the car up to near 700 bhp. The team are hoping for much better luck this season after a somewhat disatrous run of luck last campaign..

12th January 2003
The aftermath of the Autosport has appeared. A 12 hour sleep due to being utterly shattered, has also killed braincells and for some reson my pictures are not uploading. But never fear for I have contacted the one person who willbe able to sort it out. My dad. And the pics should HOPEFULLY be ready for this evening.
The show was once again its amazing self. A mixture, of new and old, fast and slow and of course beautiful under dressed women. The Custom Car Magazine stand was once again looking good, and my upmost regards go to Kev Elliott and his team for working around the disability of having a pole in the way of their area. An obvious dis-advantage and very worked around. Infact it was only when Andy Frost told me it was there, that I noticed. Slow or Stupid...you decide! The Custom Car Stand as last year had a Debutant car. This year was the presence of the magnifcent '41 Willys Coupe of Rick Homewood. A stunning display of engineering, but with only a 300 odd cubic inch engine...a challenger this year, If not it is fantastic to see the people who want to race because they love it. I am not writing him off, but if there was a car I want to see win, It would be that car, basically for his love of the class and alsofor the car. It is frankly georgeous and deserves and award just for the car.
Anyway, the stand also including the beautiful Victor of Andy Frost. The car looked superb as usual and on speaking to Andy, i think we are in for a real treat this year. With the new nitrous fittings installed, this car will be storming up that 1/4!!!! Believe me!!! Oh and did someone mention he was the only person with a car on display, who drove the car there? No oh ..now you know! The last ccse car in attendence was the superb Aston Martin Vantage of Steve Neimantis. Now. Here is where i grumble. Like most other CCSE fans, i went there expecting to see our most loved cars looking incredible in their posing attire. However, the lighting in the CCSE pen was not what I believed it should have been. Especially on the likes of a car's such as Andy Frosts and Steve Neimantis'. THe cars looked superb, but the lighting making the look even better did not. When you see Steve Neimnatis' car in my pictures, you will see what i mean. The other grumble I have is that about the pen. For photographers, taking pictures of cars on show is hard enough when there are a few hundred thousand people walking through your picture at any one time. On the CCSE stand, they tried to make it harder by putting the customary fence around the cars. Now. as you will see from my pictures, taking pictures through objects such fences is not easy. When the cars are next to the fences, it makes it even harder because the shot of choice is not an option. The fence is there to stop people touching the cars, but surely there is another way.
Anyway, I did believe that the show was a success especially for the CCSE cars involved. I have pictures from the Santa Pod stand aswell. Keep Posted for the update.
5th January 2003
Hey everyone, I have a a few updates for you but they will have to wait until tomorrow. Basically I have for you a sight for the upcoming season reagrding his '34 Ford.
With the new season only, and i repeat ONLY, 3 and a half months away!!! The next few weeks should provide plenty of pre-season updates, pictures, and new drivers. On the Crossbreed Racing site, new drivers for next season under the crossbreed name look promising.
Im not saying too much, but keep posted.
